eMarketer has disclosed its forecasts relating to
US retail e-commerce sales (excluding
travel) in
2009. The company says the rate will fall to $133 billion. However, the company has added that the improvement of the
economy would eventually result in increased
online sales as observed before
2008. This is mainly expected to happen due to
online consumers shifting to
shopping online. As the
e-
commerce will enter a maturity stage by 2012, the
growth rate will start declining
